I created Wiiff a long time ago to be awesome, and I hope everyone likes it. So, I did a similar thing with CelebrityTweet and it’s up for the biggest award on the web! I would really appreciate the help by having you vote and leave a comment there, along with sending messages to your friends asking them to vote. I’m the only independent, single developer in my category. My competition are huge corporations and agencies with a lot of promotional power.
Please post this on forums, blogs, anywhere you think it might help! Help the underdog out!
Here’s how to vote:
1. Go to http://pv.webbyawards.com
2. Register to vote (confirmation email usually goes to email junk folder)
3. Go to the Celebrity/Fan category and vote for CelebrityTweet
You may have noticed the new look and some of the rad new features. It has been a long time in the coming and a lot of sleepless nights (seriously) putting together the new Wiiff! BUT! it was all worth it because now you can add friends to your account and your Profile page is now a dashboard for all your communication needs. There will be a lot of improvements and customization options in the coming months, but we’re off to a solid start.
We’re also adding video to the site! So, make some Wii videos and send us a link.
I’m going to keep it short and sweet and listen to your feedback now. Let me know what you like, dislike or would like to see. Let’s make Wiiff the best community for Nintendo Wii friends!
WOW! The Wiiff point system is really movin’ and groovin’. It is pretty clear that UZI is the current king of Wiiff.com jumping out to an impressive early lead, and the first to reach over one million points. Rooster_Nugget and Shaqattak are in impressive second and third places.
There are many things on Wiiff that give you points. Most of them are secret, but it is definitely no surprise that the Shoutbox can give you many points. Don’t double post though! That’s lame! Post often, but without SPAMMING the place, then it’s no fun for anyone.
How have the pickup games been going that have happened on Wiiff? Have a lot of people been answering each other’s challenges? It would be great if we could pull in the results of these matches.
What do you guys think about an official Wiiff.com Wii Tournament? We could have a championship bracket, like the NCAA Final Four! Is this a good idea or not? We would all have to be on the honor system when we play live against each other and truthfully report on who won the match. I’m thinking Mario Kart would be a good first game. What do you guys think?
Tonight is the launch of wii friend points! You get these points by doing various things on wiiff.com. If you post in the shoutbox, send a message, review a game, leave a comment or simply log in to your account, you will get points! These points count towards your popularity and will get you listed on the Top Wiiff list. This helps other Wiiff users find quality friends that use the site on a regular basis. This feature should really help those regular users keep in touch with one another and allow new users to find a lot of friends FAST!
Hope you enjoy it. If you have any questions or problems, hit me up on the contact page.
Wow! I am really excited to announce that Wiiff now has friend comments and game reviews! You can cruise on over to your favorite Wiiff’s profile page and leave them a comment right on their page. If you feel really ambitious, you can then point your cruiser towards the game code section and leave a review on any game over there. This should really help everyone out, so we know what games are worth picking up and which are worth forgetting.
We’re working on more cool features, like friend rankings and game ratings. These features will help sort out the best content on Wiiff, so it’s easier to find new friends that want to hang out. I also want to try and come up with some kind of cool challenge system or “open challenges” where someone can posta note to meet up and play online… Not sure how that would work yet. Any ideas?
If you run into any problems or have some ideas, send me a message. Here is my profile.
I thought the day would never come, but I was completely wrong. Wiiff now has it’s own FORUM! YES! Now all the Wiiffsters can chat, lauch, post, type, makeout, whatever all over the message board. It was a long road making the messageboard work with everyone’s existing username, but we have conquered this task! So, just cruise over to the forum and login with your regular Wiiff credentials and BAM! Yer in.
I’ve been writing code for quite a few hours now and aha! I have done it! I am excited to announce that I have finally added Game Friend Codes! That’s right everyone… Now you can add your friend codes for every Nintendo Wifi game that you have. You can add your Mario Kart Friend Codes or Super Smash Bros Brawl codes or whatever. I am in the process of adding the library of Wifi games to the site, and once that is done, we’ll all be able to interact on a game-by-game basis.
Messaging has also been improved. Now when you have new messages, it will be noticable by a red alert box. Simply login to your Wiiff account and you will be notified of incoming messages. These are most likely other Wiiff’s wanting to exchange their Wii friend codes or get their game on with you.
There are many new features coming. I hope everyone has enjoyed the Shoutbox feature. I see that it has been getting a lot of use, which is great! I hope you continue to enjoy the improvements that are being made at Wiiff! We are trying our best to make Wiiff the ultimate Wii friend code destination and community on the web and I think we can do it! The new forum is coming very soon, so stay tuned for that.
Last night I added a “shoutbox” to Wiiff. You can see it on the homepage, your profile page, and a few other pages. Basically it lets you jump right in to conversation and post whatever is on your mind. Maybe you can find a pick-up game there… Just click on “Shout Now!” to enter a message and BAM! You’re live. The most recent message gets syndicated on the homepage for all to see. It’s basically like chatting… but more like YellChatting. Some examples of possible shouts…
“Anyone wanna play Mario Kart right now?”
“Hey! Add me as a friend!”
“Is Heather Locklear on here?”
“For sale - 1986 Iroc”
“My brother is lame”
“If you’re not cool, reply to this!”
“Give me your login info and I’ll fix up your account!” (don’t reply to that one)
“Anyone have any Taco Bell coupons?”
“The guy who created Wiiff is studly”
You get the picture… Use it now. Use it often! I really hope everyone enjoys it.
Giga.de, which is the coolest, sexiest international gaming site on the whole entire internet is showing Wiiff some serious love by featuring us on their TV show, Wiimotion! We can’t thank them enough for being so nice to us. We have also gained quite a few new members from Germany, Norway and Austria. Welcome, everyone!
It’s that time again, for the second year in a row, where all the virtual athletes in and around Brooklyn, NY show up for a passionate battle known as Wiimbledon. on June 7 from 10:00 - 5:00 pm at Barcade in Brooklyn, the studly will show up with Wiimote in hand.
Yours truly, Awesome IC competed in last years event and easily made it through to round two, only to be taken out by some ninja with long hair. His name was not Bon Jovi, nor was he a certified ninja, but I’m sure he showed up in an Iroc. They say it’s better to get beat by the best, but I can tell you from experience, that it sucks either way. You see, I did not get beat by the best… Not even close. You see, the best was this dude that looked like Luigi. Mario got served earlier in the day, therefore proving that Mario is running purely on popularity and Luigi has all the skill.
Can you feel it? I totally can. I’m just really excited about a number of new features we’ll be rolling out on Wiiff in the near future. Most are minor, and will help the overall experience, but we’re finally going to add a MESSAGEBOARD! It will be nice to finally be able to blabber all over the internet in the Wiiff “forum” or “board” or “community travel log journal or wiihawken, new jersey”…
Anyway, I would welcome any suggestions as to how we can improve Wiiff in any way. What started as a simple way to find Wii friend codes based on similar interests has really outgrown it’s trousers… not by much, but enough that we either need to get extensions or get started on the Adkins Diet. We’ll take the extensions.
First off, let me welcome you to the new Blog-O-Rama! Which is totally bodacious in a super-awesome kinda way.
I’ve been shredding it up, like Slash on a solo today. I tuned up Wiiff a bit today to make it better and prepare it for a nice little upgrade… that’s always good! I added this blog, which will be a nice addition to Wiiff, allowing me to update the community on what’s new in the Nintendo Wii world and what’s floppin’ at Wiiff.
